For
as many years as my daughter has been at school I have made
Christmas gingerbread houses to give as gifts to her teachers, and for
our friends and neighbours. Each year the list of recipients grows
such that the door -to- door delivery on Christmas Eve has almost
become a tradition in our street.
As December draws closer, and the time comes to start
the baking and creating process, I am taken back on a nostalgic
journey to my childhood, to the sounds of the food mixer and the
scrapings of the bowl from my Mum’s kitchen, and my Dad's creative
cake decoration.
Here, I believe, is where the Gingerbread Emporium has its roots.
It has been a natural progression for me to step from the kitchen of
my childhood to the creation of a small business that evokes those
nostalgic smells and tastes, and at the same time provides something
extra special and unique - for a gift, or a family treat at a special
celebration.
I hope they give you as much pleasure as they do me. |
